Black Hawk Down www.spe.sony.com/movies/blackhawkdown/ This was a pretty cool movie. It had little plot, less finess but BUTTLOADS of action. In fact, that's all it was. It had several familiar faces and some others I couldn't place but recognize. Like I said, only action. The whole movie is dudes shooting at each other. The Good: It was quite intense, cool soundtrack. Perfect for those wanting an explosions and gunfights movie. The Bad: Barely any plot whatsoever... "We left some people behind and they're getting shot at." The Bottomline: Great movie for explosions!

Vanilla Sky www.vanillasky.com This is probably my favorite movie from the past few years. It isn't clever, fast paced, or witty so If you are looking for a Fight Club, this isn't it. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's creepy, and other's its the most disorienting movie. Vanilla sky was Cameron Crowe's remake of a spanish indie film called Abre Los Ojos (Open Your Eyes). I have yet to find a copy of this movie. (There isn't much on the Abre Los Ojos site, just a trailer) The Good: Tom Cruise does an incredible job (as opposed to his supposedly normal 'look at me' style of acting), as well as Penelope Cruz. I actually left the theater feeling quite in love with her (she is friggin AWESOME!). A mindfucking story that will have you flabbergasted as to what the movie is even ABOUT until the very end. Incredible soundtrack! The Bad: Might be a bit too bizarre for some. this is hearsay, but many have said Cameron Crowe sometimes copied directly from the cinematics of Abre Los Ojos. I personally don't care about things of that sort, but you may. The Bottomline: Fantastic Movie.

Hackers www.mgmua.com/hackers/ Originally I was very apprehensive about this movie. Being a computer nerd myself, and having actually (ghasp) hacked, I was upset at how they portrayed hacking. Flying around buildings inside computers is not exactly sitting in front of a black and white text screen for hours and hours. However, recently i discovered what the director said. He told interviewers that Hackers was not intended to portray hacking but the hacker culture. They failed to show the fact that most hackers spent most their time hacking and not going to raves, but i enjoyed the movie once i got over myself. Yet another great soundtrack. The Good: Cool idea for a movie, and some cool visuals. Angelina Jolie's cool. The Bad: If you are into realism, this is surely not the movie for you. Characters use non existant movie OSs, and depict hacking as flashy and colorful and hip. For the rest, go for it!
